Susan HaydenSusan Hayden works as a freelance journalist, writer and editor. Her first book, A Passion for Wine and Surf, recently won second-place in the Gourmand Food and Wine Awards in France. She lives in Cape Town, and is currently working on her first novel about growing up in apartheid South Africa.

“With a background in literary criticism, my interest is in story-telling and the ability of fiction to mirror reality. As a white South African, I have always being intrigued by the power of the written word to challenge and subvert the ‘truth’, and with Comdev’s focus on South Africa and inclusion of a literary component, I had the option of exploring this in the context of the country’s recent political changes. The course gave me a new understanding of the challenges Africa faces under the forces of globalisation, and of the power of responsible media to effect change. ComDev’s multi-disciplinary approach and relatively broad parameters gives students the opportunity to focus on their particular area of interest, and its focus on the role of responsible media is enlightening and inspiring for anyone working in the fields of journalism and communication.”

Hi Susan
You don’t look frog like to me. Is this a genuine comment or has your mail been hijacked?
