ComDev Spring Term 2012 – Important Dates
The new term for Malmö University’s Communication for Development masters programme starts on January 16th 2012.
Below are some important dates for the programme that you can now add to your diaries.
If you are new to the programme and this is will be your first term with ComDev then you will be studying the Communication, Culture and Media Analysis course.
You can find important information regarding registration for the programme and our IT systems in Start Guide Spring Term 2012. You can also find a provisional literature list for the Communication, Culture and Media Analysis Course on this Start Guide. If you are starting the ComDev programme this spring you will need to register for both the programme and course using http://webreg.mah.se . You will find more information regarding registration on the Start Guide Spring Term 2012
If you started studying with ComDev in the Autumn term of 2011 and have already completed one term of study then you will also be studying the Communication, Culture and Media Analysis course. You should also register for this course using the http://webreg.mah.se link.
If you started studying with ComDev in January 2011 and have now completed two terms of study with the programme then you will be studying the New Media, ICT and Development course in the first part of the Spring term and the Research Methodology course in the 2nd half of the spring term. As with all new course you will also have to register using the http://webreg.mah.se link
If you started studying with ComDev in Autumn 2010 then you will begin your final Project Work in January and should also register of this course at http://webreg.mah.se.
This term there will also be an opportunity for late project work submissions during this spring term please see entries in purple in the timeline
All students should register for their courses as soon as they can when registration opens on January 9th 2012. Once you have registered for your courses you will gain access to your course site in It’s Learning our online study area. In this area you will be given a more detailed schedule and more information about the course you will study.
Please read this information carefully and note those dates that are applicable to you.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT an exhaustive and complete list of dates and deadlines. There will be many other important dates that you will receive later in the term and will be posted on the relevant course sites. These dates are provided only as a guide to help you plan your studies next year.

The dates for the ComDev Seminar in March are yet to be confirmed (Provisional dates are Thursday March 29th, Friday 30th and Saturday 31st we will confirm on which of days the seminar will take place and the location as soon as we can).
April 2nd
DEADLINE – Process paper submission Project Work, 1-2 chapters max 15 pages
April 12th
Project Work Process Seminar online feedback and discussion in groups.
April 13th
Project Work ComDev10 Process Seminar online feedback and discussion in groups.
April 16th
Project Work Lecture – Writing up: Anders Høg Hansen
May 16th
DEADLINE – Submission of 90% version of thesis Project Work
May 22nd, 23rd and 24th
Project Work ComDev10 90% Seminars. Oral presentations and peer review with academic examiner recommendations for completion phase (no grade given).
May 31th ComDev Seminar Malmö
10:00 – 16:00 (09:00 – 15:00 GMT)
Examination Seminar Communication, Culture and Media Analysis.
June 8th
DEADLINE – Submission of final version of Project Work ComDev10
June 15th
Written feedback and grade from examiner.
