Dear ComDev,

I just heard about this fantastic programme and would very much like to apply, but I know that the application deadline for the Spring semester has already passed. I have a swedish personnummer and am an EU citizen but was educated in the United States. Is there any possibility at all that I would be able to still apply (and find a way to catch up with the missed coursework if I do get in)?

Thanking you in advance,
Yee-Yin

Hi Yee-Yin
I am afraid the spring term has already started but you can definitely still apply for the Communication for Development masters programme starting in September 2011. Applications for Swedish and EU Citizens opens on March 15th.

You can find more information about admissions here
http://www.mah.se/english/Student/Student-services/Admissions-Office/

Or visit our course site here where you will find a link to apply. All university admissions in Sweden goes through studera.nu so you will be directed to their site.
http://www.edu.mah.se/HACFD/

If you are an EU citizen then it is best to wait until after March 15th to make your application.

Thank you for showing an interest in the course and good luck with your application.

Hi,

I´m a danish student, and I´m very interested in your courses at Communication for development. I already started on my master, so I won’t be able to do all 60 points. Therefor I want to ask if its possible do the two first terms as an exchange student (taking only 30 ECTS points)? I haven´t been able to find any information about exchange students on the web page.

Thanks,
Rikke

Dears,

can I ask you a simple question if it is hard to learn ComDev programme? Are there students who started it and didn’t manage to finish to get a Master Degree?

Thank you and best regards,

Juste

Hi Juste
Thank you for your interest in ComDev. Like most Masters programme Communication for Development has high academic standards and the assignments can sometimes be demanding, but we have a team of dedicated staff that support students through their studies and try and help them get the most from the course.

Unfortunately like most academic programmes some the participants do not complete the prgramme often because they are trying to combine their studies with work and family commitments that can make finding time for study difficult.

all the best

Hi,

I am interested in applying for the Communication for Development programme that starts in spring 2012. And I am wondering if it is correct that the deadline for applying is as early as 2011-08-15?

I am also wondering if the programme starts in autumn 2012?

Dear ComDev,

I have submitted a late application for spring semester 2012 (MAH -32054) which has not yet been processed. Now it seems as if another course for spring semester 2012 (MAH – 32028) is open for application. I am not sure if there are two courses starting in spring semester? Does it make sense to apply for the other course as well? I would really like to start the course in spring as I think its a great programme! So I would be very thankful for some clarification regarding the two programmes listed on universityadmissions.se.

Thanking you in advance,

Rosalia

Hi,
I am Elnur from Azerbaijan, working in UNICEF in capacity of C4D officer, dealing with strategic communication for behaviour and social change, bring development communication capacity to state civil servants. Just year ago, I applied and got a notification on placement (629) and then, I did not get any e-mail or response to my inquire on what should I do next? I did not get any e-mail of whether I passed or not, if not, what was the reason.

I am very much interested in the course, as I am heavily involved and practicing the C4D since 1998 working in various international organization, including UNICEF.

I would highly appreciate your feedback on my status of admission and should I re-apply or what would be your recommendations.

Thanks

Hi Elnur

I am afraid it sounds like you were on the reserve list number 629. The last few years we have had a very high number of applications and have not been able to offer places to all that have applied. The course is still running and if you are still interested in studying with us then I suggest that you make another application. If you want to find out more about our application procedures then I suggest you contact the admissions department admissions@mah.se

Many thanks

Hej, jag har sökt in till ComDev i vår och har en fråga angående studietakten. Finns det möjlighet att ta examen på kortare tid eller måste man hålla sig till till den planerade studietakten?

Hugo Boothby November 23, 2011 at 4:38 pm

Hi Judith

Thanks for your question. I am afraid you must follow the ComDev programme as it is offered. It may be possible to study some parts of the course full time rather than part time but this is something we are trying finalize at the moment so I cannot give any guarantee.

As I am sure you can understand we have to have a structure to the course and cannot accept assignments as and when students have competed them.

Is it possible for me to request a hard copy of the relevant prospectus to be posted to me here in the UK? I haven’t been able to find the correct link to do this on the university website.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Dear Hugo,
I am finishing my bachelor studies in communicaiton sciences and would like to study ComDev master in Malmo. I will try with the late applicaiton but in case it’s too late or I don´t succed I would like to ask if it´s possible to start studying this program in the Spring semester? Or it’s onlyt starting in September once a year?
Also, I would like to know how are the exams being organised? If a student is attending course by distance, can he/she take the exams in the same way or the presence in Malmo during the exam session is obligatory?

Thank you very much,
Vaida

Hi,

I am considering applying for a place on the course beginning September 2013. I live in England and was planning on moving to Sweden if I was offered a place. However at times the website describes the course as being ‘internet based distance education’. Does this mean that it would not be worth moving to Sweden?

Reply

Hugo Boothby December 5, 2012 at 11:33 am

Hi Matthew
Sorry a bit late with my reply. ComDev is an integrated distance learning programme. We have 2 intensive two day seminars a term that usually take place here in Malmö. Students are encouraged to take part in the seminars in person but apart from that all other tuition is delivered via our online learning management system. You would not need to move to Sweden to study this programme, although many of our students do live in Sweden and combine the course with work, family or other study commitments.
