Jenny Nordberg from APOKALYPS LABOTEK was one of our most popular gust speakers. She came to speak about some of their award winning products and designs. They also talked about their sustainable approach to their organization and how they can contribute to social commentary through innovative design.

In September 2010 Michael Edwards from DEMOS came to speak on some of the ideas found in his book “Small change: Why business won’t save the world.” Follow this link for video.

 

Geoff Mulgan from the Young Foundation and one of the leading figures in Social Innovation came to deliver a lecture at the university in January 2011, click here to watch video from that day.

 

Tim Jackson visited the university in Febuary of 2011 to speak about his book “Prosperity Without Growth” and engage in a debate regarding several of the theories presented in the book. To watch video of the event click here.

 

Sepetmber 2010 Jerr Boschee came to deliver a very inspiring lecture about his lifetime experience working with social causes.

We are glad to announce that 10 ambitious students enrolled in the Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation course have been chosen to help with SOCAP/Europe in Amsterdam, May 29th to June 1st. The students were selected for 50 spots out of over 150 applicants. While at the conference the students are scheduled to complete several hours of volunteer work to help with hosting the event. This will give them a unique perspective on the conference and an opportunity not only to interact with the other participants interested in building social capital,  but also see what it takes to host a unique event such as this one.

 

 

Seminar for New Business Models at MINC May 25th

On May 25th starting at 16:00, MINC is hosting a seminar featuring two leading figures in social business.  Alex Osterwalder will be on hand to talk about his new book Business Model Generation along with other thoughts regarding social business.

Afterward Karin Ruiz will take part in an interview session to discuss how Peepoople was transformed from a concept into a reality.
