The Visual Interventions Tanzania project is now in the final stage of its first phase.

Following research and filming that had been carried out in Tanzania in August students and staff from K3, Malmö and the University of Dar es Salaam traveled to Sweden to complete post-production on three separate films.

The films were premired at Malmö’s Panora cinema on October 27th.

Anders Hög Hansen (ComDev, K3) then returned to Tanzania in November to take part in public screenings for those communities, on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, where the filming had taken place.

A key part of this film for development project the free, public, open air screenings for locals, stakeholders, and participants were an opportunity for those involved to view, discuss and contemplate the impact of these films as well as explore what possible future actions might be possible.

ComDev08 student Sören Sönderstrup has been observing this film for development project and his observations will form part of his final masters thesis. Sören will also discuss the project further in his forthcoming Glocal Times article.

To read more about the screenings and the possible continuation of this project see Anders’ report Visual Interventions Update
