Photo Essay on New Media and Heritage at House of Culture in Tanzania

During 2012 and 2013, the early phase of setting up a new House of Culture, researchers Shani Omari, Ylva Ekström, and Anders Høg Hansen (a Tanzanian, a Swede, and a Dane) conducted research at the museum. The essay is based on their interviews and observations with staff, visitors or participants, and their own photos.

Anders Hög Hanse, Ylva Ekström and research assistant HafidhAnders Høg Hansen is a Senior Lecturer in the ComDev program; former ComDev lecturer Ylva Ekström is currently director of studies in media and communication studies at Uppsala University. Shani Omari is one of several collaborators ComDev and the School of Art and Communication at Malmö University have worked with at the University of Dar es Salaam.
