“Aestetic qualities in public mass communication”
Jakob Dittmar, Lecturer in Media and Communication Studies, K3, Malmö University
Jakob’s lecture will introduce the group of so called En-Passant-Media these consist of objects whose primary use is not communication but other functions. En-Passant-Media that Jakob will explore in this presentation include grafitti, tattoos and other signs that are filling our public spheres. Media spaces like textiles and walls that carry messages on their surface. The demand for emotional aspects in communication – of risks and dangers but also in general – is explored in this context and continued into aspects of communication into deep time (how do you label tips for atomic waste for the time to come?).
