Context: A query to a tangible archive may yield several hits and the question is how the matching objects should be highlighted.

Description: The drawing on the right illustrates how a user indicates an object in the tangible archive (with a laser pointer?) and related objects are literally highlighted with laser beams. Laser highlighting can be used also for presenting search results. The two other drawings illustrate alternative metaphors: matching objects moving towards each other, and moving objects pulled out of a pile of objects by a magnet.

Interesting: Moving on the physical/virtual boundary is an increasingly important issue.
