About us
Who we are:
This blog is created by a group of ComDev students at Malmö University and part of the course “New Media, ICT and Development”. During the month of October the blog will be filled with posts discussing different angles and perspectives of social media and data in the context of development, in order to provide you with 360 degree view of this topic.
Blog contributors:
Monica – With an academic background in Classical Philology, ending up working in the field of development cooperation and international relations at the European Union would not have been that obvious. However, having in mind the mantra ‘reinvent yourself or die’ (without the drama), she has gained academic and professional experiences worldwide, with a special interest in Asia.
Sophia – Has an academic degree in both Marketing and (Development) Economics and spent all her working life in the field of marketing communication. Started the ComDev program because she is intrigued by development issues. Curious by nature, she likes to travel and experience different cultures. Labeling herself “Swedutch” as she is Swedish but has been living in the Netherlands for the last ten years.
Valentina – Landed in the world of expat aid workers after studying and teaching Russian as a foreign language. Still in love with the former Soviet Union, she is currently living in Sri Lanka, working for a local NGO implementing post-conflict development projects. In her free time, she can be found wandering in remote corners of the island taking pictures of monkeys and parrots, and reading Scandinavian thrillers.

Looking good! Lacking some content in the resources section, when are you planning on adding that?
Nice About page introducing the authors, always nice to see who’s writing. I appreciate the balance between the two columns and the blog in the middle, easy on the eye! I also enjoy the Twitter-box, nice way to pick up some interaction without having to have your own account for this short time.
Looking forward to seeing your presentation next week!
Thank you Rebecca for the feed back!
We have started adding to the resources section. It will be fully up to date on the 30th.
Kind regards,
Sophia
