Back in 2010, I gladly heard from the Argentine Film Institute that the proposal I submitted to produce a documentary tentatively called ‘Hasta la Semana que Viene’ (‘See You Next Week’) was among the projects selected for funding and later on broadcasting throughout the nationwide public TV network.

Inspired by an article about blogging for ICT4D [1] I felt that in this context we need room here for some reflection and critical discussion about blogging in general and this blog in particular: What does blogging mean for whom? Who is reading blogs? Who is publishing their thoughts in blogs? Is this contributing to development and social change?
This site is an exercise in definition and access.
What defines a community?
In the world of ComDev must community always refer to the developing or rural world?
How much broader, or narrower, does the definition become in a physical sense when considering online spaces and virtual communities?
How does access to the Internet affect the definition of virtual communities today?
How can we expand virtual communities to become more inclusive and representative of glocal voices, including physical communities that may be disadvantaged due to geographical location, access to technology or language?
