Ali: I’m a leading professional in capacity building, organizational development and international project coordination, with more than 10 years of experience in child protection, emergency response, programme design and projects evaluation.
Clara: Exploring how people shape and exchange messages to inform, learn, understand, convince, coerce, reject or bound, and the results and consequences of such interaction have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. With an academic background in international relations, journalism, strategic communication and environmental studies, and working with diplomacy in the realm of development, I am eager to learn more about how the transformative power of communication can be utilized for a more sustainable kind of development.
Pau: Six years ago, in April 2011, I had the chance to attend a great speech by Spanish journalist Nico Castellano (Cadena SER) on what he called “humanitarian journalism”. Ever since, the role of journalism, communication and ICT in development issues have been my biggest concern on my short professional career, which includes a master’s degree and internship with news agency EFE and international cooperation with NGO Global Aid Network. At the moment, I work as communications responsible with the Netherlands based Christian NGO, Open Doors.
Sara: I have a strong interest for aid and development work together with communication strategies. I have an academic background in Development Assistance Engineering and have the last years been working as a technical project manager at an association within the construction field where communicating the associations purpose has been a strong focus.
