The authors of this blog are Derek Stubenbord, Marcia Munoz Caceres, Sujitha Krishnamoorthy, Philip Wood, all students of the master’s program Communication for Development at Malmö University.
Derek, originally from the United States has worked as an English teacher in the US and China, where he has now been living for five years. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in International Relations from Northeastern University with a minor in History. He is currently teaching English in Changchun in the northeast of China, while studying for the Masters in Communication for Development with Malmö University. He enjoys attempting to cook Chinese food and globe-trotting in his free time.
Marcia, has a bachelor degree in political science from Uppsala University and has in the course of her studies conducted a minor field study in Chile and an internship in Uruguay. She has previously worked at the UN Association of Sweden and the Swedish Red Cross Youth. Marcia has a particular interest in Latin America and is the vice chairwoman of the swedish youth organization PeaceWorks, which runs various development projects in Colombia.
Philip, divides his time between Washington, DC and Memphis, Tennessee in the United States. He has worked as a print and television journalist both in the US and in Asia, and in media relations for the Asian Development Bank and various UN peacekeeping missions and specialized agencies. He graduated with a BA in Political Science from Tufts University in the US.
Sujitha, basically from India has great passion towards business and development. She done her Master’s on Wireless Communication from Lund University. Presently working as a International relations & placement officer in the University in India. she has great interest towards development works of various non-profit organisations and future aim is to work in Development sector.
